Folder custom fields

Use folder custom fields to attach structured metadata (key-value pairs) to a workflow folder. These fields are useful when you want to:

  • Use folder-level values (like Region, Client, Location) when exporting individual documents
  • Automatically move documents to specific folders based on dynamic values during approval steps

This allows for smarter automation, consistent metadata use, and better control over document routing and export.

  • Access the settings of a workflow folder (see Workflow folder settings for details).
  • Select Workflow > Update data from the left panel, then click Folder custom fields.
  • To add a new custom field, click Add custom field.
  • Enter custom field Key and Value.
  • Click Save.
  • To delete an existing custom field click Remove next to it.

Important note: Folder custom fields do not affect label detection or document classification. They are meant for dynamic routing and export customization based on the folder where a document was uploaded.
